A Steel Composition Containing Carbon Content up to 2.1% by weight is known as Carbon Steel Material.

As per AISI standard Carbon Steel Defined as:

• Non presence of alloy element (minimum contain) required, as of Cr, Mo, Ni, Ti, Va and etc.
• Specified minimum of Cu element shall not exceed 0.04%.
• Presence of Maximum Mn element range 1.65%, Si 0.06%.

Result of increasing of Carbon element content, the material will become harder and stronger after Heat Treatment process. Otherwise it will become less ductile, and without Heat Treatment Higher Carbon will result Reducing of Weldability.

Low Carbon Steel or Mild Steel Flanges Specifications :

Carbon steel pipe flanges usually adopt mild steel or low carbon steel, as it includes small percentage of carbon, strong and tough but not readily tempered. Which with lower cost and material could be used for many applications.

• Low carbon steel Material: Carbon element content at 0.005% to 0.3%.
• Medium carbon steel Material: Carbon element Content 0.3 to 0.8%.
• High carbon steel Material: 0.8-2.0% of carbon element present
• Ultra high carbon steel Material: Present of Carbon element Range 1.25% to 2.0%.
